Leysin: A Mountain Gem

Nestled high in the Swiss Alps, Leysin is a picturesque town that offers stunning views, rich culture, and a sense of tranquility that’s hard to match. Just a short drive from Montreux and easily accessible from Geneva, Leysin attracts visitors year-round, whether they’re seeking winter sports or summer hikes. This vibrant community is not just a vacation spot; it’s a beloved second home for many families, including our couple, who have cherished memories here for years. And it's the place that I also call home!

The gorgeous, down-to-earth couple, hailing from Belgium, chose Leysin to exchange their vows for its deep personal significance. For them, this town is more than just a beautiful backdrop; it represents family traditions and a place where they’ve built countless memories together. It was only fitting that they would say "I do" in a location so close to their hearts.

A Heartfelt Ceremony

The wedding ceremony took place at L'Eglise du Feydey, a charming and intimate setting that echoed with history and love. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple exchanged vows in a multilingual service, celebrating their Belgian heritage and the international bonds they’ve formed. The air was filled with laughter, tears, as they exchanged heartfelt vows, with their puppy Roquette at their feet. They were welcomed by their friends and family after the ceremony to the sound of a traditional Alphorn trio who stayed through the duration of family photos.

Celebrating at the Hotel Grand Chalet

Following the ceremony of this mountain wedding in Switzerland, guests made their way to the nearby Hotel Le Grand Chalet for an intimate apéro and reception. This hotel perfectly embodies traditional Swiss chalet decor, with its warm wooden interiors, cozy fireplaces, and rustic charm. The sweeping views of the mountains and valleys surrounding the hotel provided a breathtaking backdrop for the celebration, making every moment feel even more magical.

As the sun set behind the Alps, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delightful apero, complete with Swiss delicacies and local wines. The atmosphere was lively, with stories shared in multiple languages, laughter ringing through the air, and the talented Drumminsax playing DJ and live musician as the smooth sounds of his saxophone filled the mountain air.

A Memorable Reception

The reception that followed was nothing short of enchanting. The decor was elegantly rustic, with soft lighting that enhanced the warmth of the wooden beams. As a wedding photographer, capturing the joy on everyone’s faces as they celebrated this couple’s love was truly a highlight.

The speeches were filled with humorous anecdotes and well-wishes from family and friends, some in French, Flemish, and English. It was a beautiful testament to the couple’s diverse backgrounds and the love that unites them all. The evening culminated in a lively dance party, where guests celebrated late into the night.
